2. Eagles coming off shorter week

Defeating the Giants on Monday means the Eagles will be playing on a shorter week when Sunday’s game against the Redskins officially gets underway.

And even though this may not seem like the biggest deal in the world, it could very well put Philadelphia at a slight disadvantage in Washington, whether they want to admit it or not.

For starters, Monday’s win over the Giants turned out to be much tougher for the Eagles, and the fact that it went into overtime shows what kind of challenge Philadelphia was dealing with.

While this scenario is certainly better than having to play on an even shorter week if the Eagles were forced to play on a Thursday, it will still be interesting to see if this factor comes into play for Philadelphia in this critical game against Washington.

One extra day may not seem like the biggest deal in the world for most football players, but it’s certainly possible to impact the Eagles in Week 15.

So while it was great to see Philadelphia squeeze out a hard-fought win over New York Monday night, let’s hope the factor of the shorter week doesn’t result in the team coming up short against another rival in the Redskins.
