The Philadelphia Eagles have ten defensive backs on the current active roster, and you can make a successful argument for replacing every single one of them.

Here’s one thing that we all can agree on. Ronald Darby has to go. Once you get him out of the way, that’s when the debate starts. Should Jalen Mills be brought back? What about Malcolm Jenkins? Most of the fan base seems to be satisfied with the play of Rodney McLeod. Many seem willing to acknowledge the fact that Avonte Maddox and Cre’Von LeBlanc have at minimum earned the right to show that they can be key contributors to this Philly defense.

Unfortunately, however, Sidney Jones hasn’t worked out, Craig James just isn’t a starter in this league, and there are quite a few Eagles fans who probably didn’t even know that Marcus Epps was on the active roster.

Rasul Douglas can play, but he’s slow. The Eagles also haven’t realized yet that he’s better suited to play safety, and you also have to keep in mind the fact that Rudy Ford is on the IR. This secondary needs a complete overhaul and at minimum, we’re talking about maybe seven guys or more. This team can’t win consistently with the guys that they have.
