9. NFC East could be finalized Sunday or another week

The one topic that will be on the back of every football fan’s mind on Sunday is whether a division champion will actually emerge within the NFC East or if they will simply have to wait another week.

For the Cowboys, they have the best scenario since a win over the Eagles clinches the division, and punches their ticket to the postseason in the process.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia basically needs to win each of their final two games to finish on top of the NFC East, meaning they can’t afford to have an off game like previous weeks, with the Miami Dolphins loss immediately coming to mind.

Looking back at some of the previous chances the Eagles had to build a lead over the Cowboys in the division, if they do end up falling short of the playoffs, Philadelphia will have no one to blame other than themselves.

But hopefully, the Eagles can find a way to defeat the Cowboys on Sunday in order to keep their season alive, and not have to worry about Week 17 being meaningless.

With all of the expectations at the beginning of the year, anything short of the playoffs would be viewed as a major disappointment for Philadelphia, and there’s no reason to even try sugarcoating it.
