Philadelphia Eagles 2020 schedule: Top 5 opponents outside NFC East
By Dan Parzych
2. San Francisco 49ers
Thanks to a thrilling regular-season finale against the Seahawks, the San Francisco 49ers managed to finish on top of the NFC West along with clinching the top overall seed in the NFC playoff picture as well.
Heading into the 2019 season, the 49ers seemed to have the potential to be a sleeper in the NFC now that Jimmy Garoppolo was finally healthy, and the defense added a few weapons, but no one expected San Francisco to be this good.
After years of going through rebuilding, the 49ers finally seem strong enough to be built as serious contenders in the NFC for years to come, as this team has been difficult to defeat all year.
Based off some of the results from this season, teams playing on the road in San Francisco have struggled for the most part, and Philadelphia will certainly have their hands full for this NFC showdown.
In order to continue being a top contender, the Eagles will need to show beyond the 2019 season they can compete with the best, and that includes the 49ers.
Since San Francisco isn’t going away anytime soon, this could end up being the most difficult team Philadelphia faces from the NFC next year.
