7. That’s the bad news about Philly’s defense. Here’s some good news.

The Eagles are fifth in the NFL in third-down conversions from the defensive perspective. They’ve held opponents to 70 conversions on 205 attempts, good for just over 34 percent. That’s the fourth-best mark in the league.

They’ve also unfortunately allowed 11 of the 18 fourth-down attempts by their opponents to be converted against them. That isn’t good, but if they can keep Seattle out of fourth-and-short, they should be golden.

8. Philly’s offense has been excellent on third down.

To the delight of Eagles fans and the Philly media, the ‘Birds’ have been excellent on offense when it comes to third-down conversions. They’ve been successful 104 times on 229 attempts. That makes them the fourth-best team in the league in that category. They’re also the third-best team in converting red zone opportunities into touchdowns.

They’ve had 54 opportunities. They’ve reached paydirt 36 times, good for a 66.7-percent clip. Eagles fans are hoping the success continues on Sunday.
