First Round: Ohio State CB Jeff Okudah

Most of the time, it can be difficult for teams to decide what position to focus on in the first round of the draft since the last thing they want to do is make the wrong selection, but when it comes to the Eagles, cornerback could be the best choice.

In a way, Philadelphia’s cornerbacks were one of the most difficult groups to figure out this past season since there would be times in which they looked great, only to struggle the following week.

Not to mention, the Eagles constantly found themselves at a disadvantage with certain players dealing with injuries, which is why it only seems fair to address the position early on in the draft.

Ohio State’s Jeff Okudah is rightfully considered one of the best cornerbacks from this year’s draft class, and even though Philadelphia would most likely need a miracle for him to fall later in the first round, it’s still possible.

Just the thought of a skilled player such as Okudah joining a group with few young cornerbacks already in Sidney Jones and Avonte Maddox seems like it could work wonders for the defense.

Plus, with Ronald Darby‘s contract up, the addition of a young rookie in Okudah would be an easy upgrade as far as a replacement is concerned.
