1. We’ll be discussing age and money a great deal here.

Jenkins is 32 years old and has played for the Eagles since 2014. He’s entering the last year of a four-year contract extension he signed in 2016. He’s scheduled to make $7.6 million in base salary in 2020, and none of it guaranteed according to Spotrac.

Jenkins came into the 2019 season desiring a new contract, as a shifting market for safeties this past offseason dropped him out of the top ten highest-paid safeties in the NFL. Standouts like the Washington Redskins‘ Landon Collins and the Baltimore Ravens‘ Earl Thomas earn yearly salaries that hover around $14 million. Jenkins contends he has out-performed his original four-year contract and wants to see improvement in his next deal.
