In conclusion

It seemed silly to call Scott the ‘next Darren Sproles’ when he never even took a snap until the Eagles were ravaged by injuries, but the coaches were patient, Sproles was a mentor, and here we are. Scott kind of looks like another Darren Sproles.

Sanders was one of the top recruiting prospects at the running back position. Then he sat behind Saquon Barkley. Sproles would turn out to be one of the best multi-faceted backs in league history, but he sat behind a Hall of Famer in the making, LaDainian Tomlinson and a very capable backup in Michael Turner.

Who else could understand Sanders’ story?

Both Sanders and Scott have learned what it means to be a pro from one of the best pros the game has ever seen. If these guys play for years and put up comparable numbers to ’43’, no Eagles fan will complain. Sproles did his part to mentor these two and did an outstanding job, just ask either one of them. Now, it’s up to Duce Staley to take them the rest of the way. It appears that both are in good hands.

Why is it fair to say that Sproles’ final season was anything but a failure? Just watch the tape. Scott and Sanders are as good a reason as any. Carson Wentz has a couple of guys that he can lean on.
