2. Kevin O’Connell

After two years on the staff, the Washington Redskins promoted Kevin O’Connell to offensive coordinator prior to the start of the 2019 season.

But with the Redskins recently hiring Ron Rivera as their new head coach along with making Scott Turner the new offensive coordinator, O’Connell finds himself in need of a new gig for the 2020 season.

While it would be great to bring someone like O’Connell on board with a history of working with quarterbacks, making him the offensive coordinator in Philadelphia would seem like a little too much.

With the way things turned out with Groh, the Eagles seem like they would be better off with someone more experienced at the position, and not someone coming off their first experience, especially on a team like Washington.

The argument can be made that O’Connell deserves the chances to prove himself since a few other teams have already expressed interest in possibly hiring him as well, but Philadelphia isn’t in the best position to take another risk.

For a team that will be facing heavy pressure to remain a top contender in the NFC for a fourth year in a row during the 2020 season, the Eagles should pass on O’Connell.
