Kellen Moore, Cowboys OC

Eagles fans have been very critical of Kellen Moore all season and for good reason. At times, he seemed to be doing some great things. At other times, it felt like everyone had figured him out and that he was in over his head. Very valid points could be made for both sides of that argument.

Moore is still the offensive coordinator of the Cowboys, for now, but with Mike McCarthy‘s hiring, the question is whether or not he would bring in his own regime and replace everybody. If so and if Moore gets the ax, he becomes a free agent among coaches.

Here’s the good news and bad news with adding Moore. The good news is there’s an upside. He clearly has a nice football mind and a few good ideas. The bad news is adding Moore means you almost certainly miss out on someone who’s better. How can you expect a coordinator to consistently figure out astute defensive coordinators when he usually failed to do so as a quarterback? He’s worth an interview though if he’s available.
