Pat Shurmur, former Giants head coach

Might the Eagles give some thought to making one more run with Pat Shurmur? Can we just say this and do so honestly? Shurmur is an Eagles coach. This is where he made his name. This is where he belongs, and if Philly brought him back to fill a role that he’s already done successfully, most would be satisfied with the selection.

Keep in mind, it was Shurmur who filled in as the Eagles interim head coach when the let Chip Kelly go in 2015. He went 1-0 before the ‘Birds’ gave Doug Pederson the permanent position, a move that has worked out pretty well. Things didn’t work out with the New York Giants, but some guys aren’t head coaches. Some guys are just very good coordinators, and that’s okay.

It would be nice to see what type of work Pederson and Shurmur can do on the same sideline at the same time.
