Philadelphia Eagles: 7-Round 2020 mock draft following Divisional Round
By Dan Parzych
Round 6: Charlotte RB Benny LeMay
Since the Eagles need to determine whether Jordan Howard is worth bringing back for another year along with the fact that Darren Sproles is retiring, it only seems fair to look at some of the candidates in the draft at the running back position.
Last April, Philadelphia knew they had nothing to lose in using a second-round pick on Sanders after an impressive career at Penn State, and even though the first few months weren’t exactly the most exciting, the rookie did finish 2019 on a strong note.
In fact, the argument can be made the Eagles never would have been able to win the NFC East without Sanders stepping up on offense, and there will be plenty of excitement surrounding the running back entering his second NFL season.
Not to mention, Philadelphia seems to have found a steal as well in Boston Scott after the running back stepped up on numerous occasions as well down the stretch.
But since a team like the Eagles can never have too many running backs on the roster, if the team were to use their final selection in the draft on a running back like Benny LeMay, this could work out great for the offense.
If LeMay’s time with Charlotte over the last two years in which he recorded 2,849 yards from scrimmage and 24 touchdowns are any indication of what the running back’s NFL potential is like, this could be another potential steal for Philadelphia late in the draft.
