It seems inevitable that ‘The Bodyguard’ will be released. It’s beginning to look like Jason Peters has played his final game in an Eagles jersey.

With all due respect to Jason Peters for his 15-season career in the NFL, one that has undoubtedly earned him a future place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, it’s time for Philadelphia to say goodbye to this familiar face after a decade-plus of service with the Eagles.
Peters will turn 38 on January 22nd, and ‘Father Time’ hasn’t been completely kind to him recently. The veteran left tackle has fallen under 90-percent participation of offensive snaps in each of the past three seasons, and he ended this season with ten costly penalties that have hurt his offensive teammates.
Another huge factor that should push the Eagles to let Peters go is last year’s decision to draft offensive tackle Andre Dillard in the first round of the most recent selection meeting. That was made possible by their decision to trade up and snag him. It was understandable to keep Peters around while Dillard learned the ropes, but now it’s time to pass the baton and move on.
