5 free agents for Eagles to consider from Conference Championships
By Dan Parzych
5. Marcus Mariota
As bad as it sounds for Marcus Mariota, the best decision the Titans could have made this season was the switch at quarterback to Ryan Tannehill when seeing how much it sparked the offense.

Even if Derrick Henry has carried a majority of the load on offense over the last three weeks, Tannehill still deserves a ton of credit for helping put Tennessee in position to be one win away from reaching the Super Bowl.
Back in the offseason, Tannehill was viewed as more of an insurance policy on offense since Mariota had previously dealt with injuries, but it turns out making the switch after the offense struggled to get early on in 2019 paid off in the best way possible.
Looking ahead, there’s a good chance the Titans will turn to Tannehill to become the new starting quarterback beyond this season, and while there’s always the chance of Mariota returning as a backup, the former Oregon star could explore free agency as well.
Since Philadelphia will be exploring all options at backup quarterback as well, it certainly can’t hurt to at least explore the possibility of Mariota, although he would be more expensive than other players looking for new gigs.
Still, no one needs to explain the importance of having a reliable backup quarterback these days, and if Mariota comes at the right price, this could work great for the Eagles.
