Philadelphia Eagles: Philly’s 5 worst cornerback signings from 2010-2019
Bonus: Orlando Scandrick (2019)
Orlando Scandrick was public enemy number one in Philadelphia this year after slandering the Eagles on FS1′ First Take and The Herd with Colin Cowherd shows on more than one occasion, and the only reason why was he was bitter about being cut from the team.
Scandrick’s time as an Eagle saw moments (his strip and score versus the New York Jets for instance), but having only played for three games, the aggravation that he’s been responsible for since may not have been worth the trouble.
He never strengthened Philly’s depleted secondary, outside of that one highlight-reel play versus an inferior team. Still, that isn’t enough to force Eagles fans into forgiveness for his comments. He bashed Malcolm Jenkins and was exposed a day later.
Scandrick would eventually be cut as he never proved he was a suitable starter or a decent backup option. The failure of the Scandrick signing speaks to an issue that existed before Doug Pederson or Jim Schwartz roamed the sidelines. This team has a history of making bad decisions at cornerback.
Let’s hope they can finally right the ship in 2020’s offseason.
