6. Morris Claiborne

After splitting the first seven years of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets, the Chiefs felt they had nothing to lose last offseason in signing Morris Claiborne to a favorable one-year deal.

Back in 2012, Claiborne seemed to have the potential to eventually become a top cornerback in the league after the Cowboys decided to use a first-round pick on the former LSU star, but unfortunately this turned out to be far from the case.

Otherwise, Dallas would have made more of an effort to keep him around beyond the 2016 season.

Taking on a smaller role in Kansas City may not have been Claiborne’s preference when signing with the team last offseason, but depending on what kind of interest he draws from teams in need of help at cornerback, there’s always hope for a larger role in 2020.

No one needs to explain the frustration surrounding the Eagles at the cornerback position this past season, and while Claiborne certainly wouldn’t solve all their issues, this potential addition would help add necessary depth.

Plus, for all Philadelphia knows, a fresh start on a different team in the NFC East may help Claiborne finally live up to that first-round potential, and benefit from getting to face his former team in the Cowboys twice a year.
