Miracle at the New Meadowlands: Eagles 38, Giants 31. 4. player. 54. . .

Come on. You knew this was coming.

What makes for a great game? Is it one that’s filled with drama? Is it rivalries? Could we all agree that playoff implications and come-from-behind victories do the trick? What about great individual performances and a classic ending?

In the ‘Miracle at the New Meadowlands’, Philadelphia Eagles fans got all of that.

This one gets its name from another game between the Eagles and Giants that ended in heart-stopping and dramatic fashion. That was 1978. In 2010, the Eagles tested the emotions of their fans once again with a possible playoff spot on the line.

Everything went wrong for Philly early. Everything went right for them late. Michael Vick led a spirited comeback that will forever be remembered as one of the best if not the best, in team history.

Vick threw for 242 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 130 yards and another score, but it was DeSean Jackson’s punt return for a touchdown as time expired that ensured this one would live on forever. Eagles fans everywhere can still remember Joe Buck’s call on FOX as if it just happened yesterday.

"And it’s a line drive kick. Jackson bobbles it, and now he has to try and recover. DeSean Jackson GETS A BLOCK! ARE YOU KIDDING?! DeSean Jackson… still not in and now in for the touchdown! No flags! Unbelievable! No time left! Eagles win!"

This one takes on even more significance as it ensured Philly would go on to the playoffs over a Giants team that ended the 2010 season with an identical 10-6 record.
