Josh McCown

Although Josh McCown only threw for 29 passes all year, he was valued by the organization more for his role as a mentor to the young quarterbacks rather than his performance on the field.

The Eagles find themselves in a peculiar position where they must sign at minimum two quarterbacks behind Carson Wentz.

McCown makes sense as a prime option having already played for the team and he likely wouldn’t break the bank. Yet, he wouldn’t make an aging roster any younger and with a plethora of options in free agency and the draft, re-signing McCown would be a strange decision, especially when he’s valued more for his leadership qualities rather than his ability to play.

Prediction: The Eagles let McCown walk and attempt to bring him back as a coach.

Nelson Agholor

Nelson Agholor had appeared to put the pieces together after having a breakout season from the slot en route to Philadelphia’s Super Bowl victory back in 2017.

Unfortunately, he never capitalized on that momentum. This year’s draft has already been praised for its depth of generational talent at wide receiver and at No. 21, the Eagles are in play to snatch one if interested.

It wouldn’t come as a surprise to see Agholor and Philadelphia mutually part ways as he tries to reignite his career elsewhere.

Prediction: The Eagles let Agholor walk.

Halapoulivaati Vaitai

Halapoulivaati Vaitai may not be a household name like Lane Johnson or Jason Kelce, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been a valuable asset to the Eagles.

Over the years, Vaitai has silently become one of the league’s best “band-aid” lineman, having done an excellent job at filling in for both tackle positions and even sometimes at guard.

Vaitai has showcased his talents enough to warrant a lucrative deal and a starting gig elsewhere. The Eagles would be wise to not let him hit free agency, but the feeling is he gets his opportunity to test the market.

Prediction: The Eagles let Vaitai test free agency before offering him a contract.
