In case there are Eagles fans hoping the team makes a push to sign Byron Jones, the good news is reports have already indicated this is one cornerback the team is expected to go after once the free agency period officially begins.

Between Ronald Darby dealing with injuries once again to younger players such as Sidney Jones and Avonte Maddox still being works in progress, it was easy to understand why there was so much frustration surrounding the cornerback position in Philadelphia this past season.

Sure, there were times in which the three mentioned cornerbacks would come up big on defense, but a serious contender like the Eagles needs players that are going to be consistent each week.

Assuming the team decides to move on from Darby along with continuing to develop both Jones and Maddox, it will be interesting to see what other moves are made by Philadelphia.

Even if Jalen Mills ends up re-signing with the team, the Eagles will need additional help at cornerback before the 2020 season arrives.

When seeing how reliable Jones has has been for the Cowboys dating back to the 2015 season when he first came on board as a rookie, his experience alone as a starter makes him worth the consideration for the Eagles.
