Between all of the uncertainty surrounding Malcom Jenkins since the veteran has made it clear he’s unhappy with his contract to the possibility of losing Rodney McLeod, the Eagles need to consider all potential options at safety in free agency.

Even if Jenkins and Philadelphia were to eventually work out some sort of new deal to make the safety happy, the Eagles should still explore potential options at the position since the two-time Super Bowl winner unfortunately isn’t getting any younger.

Back in 2016, the Raiders decided to use a first-round pick on Karl Joseph, and even though he’s nowhere near the same level as Jenkins impact wise, the West Virginia product has still found a way to make a name for himself.

Plus, with the Raiders previously making the decision to decline Joseph’s fifth-year option back in May, this makes it seem like the team could be leaning towards the safety testing the open market since they may feel his asking price is going to be too high.

Once again, if this happens to be the case, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Philadelphia should be opening up their checkbook for Joseph if the interest were there, but this is another potential signing that could work wonders in the long run.
