4. DeSean Jackson
Expectations were rightfully high surrounding DeSean Jackson at the beginning of the 2019 season with the veteran wideout heading into his second stint with the team to provide the offense with a reliable deep threat to work with.

After watching Jackson torch the Washington Redskins in Week 1 by catching eight passes for 154 yards to go along with two touchdowns, the Eagles wideout appeared to be on his way towards a monster year before it all fell apart due to an abdominal injury.
One can only imagine how different things would have been for Philadelphia in the playoffs if Jackson chose to have surgery right away instead of waiting things out to see if the injury would heal itself, but unfortunately there’s nothing to do about it now.
At this stage in his career, there’s a strong argument to be made that Jackson deserves at least one more chance to prove himself worthy with the Eagles, but also the team needs to decide if he would be too much of a risk injury wise.
Since Jackson’s contract with the guaranteed money could make a potential release complicated, chances are Philadelphia will be bringing back the wideout for another season in 2020 to put the unit in better shape with the hope he can stay healthy.
But also, if the Eagles end up being too concerned about Jackson’s ability to stay healthy, maybe a release could surprise the fan base once again.
