Inside linebacker

. Best option: Cory Littleton. . player. 51. .

Honorable mention: Blake Martinez, Nick Kwiatkoski

It’s almost maddening that Cory Littleton isn’t mentioned more than he is. While some linebackers excel in pass coverage but do nothing in the running game and others play they run well but can’t cover, Littleton excels at both.

Philly seems to be allergic to investing key resources into improving the linebacker position, but Littleton is so good that he might make them change their minds. Pay close attention to Blake Martinez and Nick Kwiatkoski too.

Martinez struggles in run support, but at 27, he has room to grow. Nick Kwiatkoski played so well in 2019 that the Chicago Bears didn’t miss a beat on defense after Danny Trevathan went down with an injury. Most other teams would have had to shut the season down.

player. 28. . . . Worst option: Vontaze Burfict.

Dishonorable mention: Sean Lee

It seems like Vontaze Burfict has been around for ten seasons, but he isn’t even 30 yet. It’s amazing that he still gets chances as there have always been more negatives than positives with him. He isn’t just one of the worst inside linebacker prospects in free agency. he’s one of the worst free-agent targets regardless of position.

Sean Lee isn’t going to deter anyone from arguing against adding former Cowboys to the Eagles roster. He’s decent when healthy, but that rarely seems to be the case. Plus he turns 34 in July.
