Here are the duds. We begin with the linebackers.

player. 817. . . . Michael Divinity.

Michael Divinity is a name that even the most casual football fan might recognize thanks to the part that he played in the LSU Tigers‘ championship run, so whether you see it as being fair or unfair, guys like him have an extra light shone on them in moments like the league’s biggest job fair.

Unfortunately, Divinity shrunk under the spotlight, running a 4.85-second 40. There’s nothing wrong with the 31-inch vertical or the 115-inch broad jump, but it was hard to focus on anything that he did in workouts after seeing him post that slow 40-yard dash time. He’ll need an improved effort at LSU’s Pro Day.

. Cale Garrett . . player. 822. .

Cale Garrett wasn’t one of the guys that any of us spent a ton of time talking about as the NFL Combine approached. He won’t be one of the guys we spend time talking about now that the combine is over for the linebacker prospects.

He ran a 4.92-second 40-yard dash. You aren’t running down Saquon Barkley or Dalvin Cook with that. He’s a late-round prospect at best.

player. 843. . . . Zack Moss.

It’s been a tough go this week for former Utah Utes. Zack Moss had a less-than-impressive showing with the running back grouping. His former teammate Francis Bernard stunk it up with a 4.81-second 40-yard dash time. By comparison, Tristan Wirfs ran a 4.85.

The problem with that is Wirfs is an offensive lineman that weighs 322 pounds, and Bernard is a linebacker that weighs 234 pounds. No matter how you do the math, something doesn’t add up.
