Philadelphia Eagles: 7-Round 2020 mock draft following combine
By Dan Parzych
Unlike Dantzler, Curtis Weaver actually put together an impressive outing in Indianapolis, and certainly caught the attention of teams looking to add another defensive weapon beyond the first round.
This year’s draft class is loaded with plenty of great pass rushers, and if Weaver continues to find ways to impress over the next month or so like he did for scouts at the combine, the Boise State star could find ways to make an immediate impact as a rookie.
From his impressive hand technique to versatility, Weaver is another defender who could bring plenty to the table for the Eagles on defense.
Not only did Weaver finish with 13.5 sacks as a junior in 2019, but it also marked the second time in three seasons he finished with double-digit sacks at Boise State.
If Weaver continues to play on this kind of level in the NFL, whether it happens to be with the Eagles or another team, he could easily turn into a potential third-round steal, that is assuming this is where he falls in the draft, if not before.
Playing in the NFC East is only going to continue to be more challenging for Philadelphia, and adding another effective pass rusher like Weaver will at least put the team in better position to keep things close with their other three rivals.
