10 candidates for Eagles at No. 21 in 2020 NFL Draft following combine
By Dan Parzych
If the Eagles decide to go safety in the first round, and end up passing on Delpit, could Xavier McKinney be another option worth considering at No. 21?
Over the years, Alabama has seen plenty of great defenders go on to have successful NFL careers, and even though there are no guarantees at the moment that McKinney will soon join the list, the potential is certainly there.
Things at the combine didn’t exactly go according to plan for McKinney, but as long as he finds a way to make up for it over the next month or so before the draft, his stock should be just fine.
As previously discussed, the Eagles have a few questions in need of answering at the safety position due to Jenkins currently being unhappy along with McLeod expected to hit free agency.
McKinney’s tackling skills are one of a few areas that will need to improve over the next few months before the defender participates in his first NFL game, but at least he finds ways to make up for it in other areas.
Take a look at the toughness McKinney brings to the table each possession, and it’s easy to understand why this would be such a great fit for the Eagles on defense.
