1. Here’s a message for Howie. There are other schools besides WVU.

Eagles executive vice president and general manager Howie Roseman was born in New York. He went to high school in Marlboro, New Jersey. He went to Fordham University. Doug Pederson is a Washington state product who graduated from Northeast Louisiana University. Jim Schwartz is from Baltimore and went to Georgetown.

Philly’s chairman and CEO is a man that we all know as Jeffrey Lurie. He’s from Boston. Who knows why this team loves to watch West Virginia Mountaineers football so much, but there have been quite a few Mountaineers to pass through Philly over the past four years plus. They’re watching a lot of West Virginia football at the NovaCare Complex.

Since hiring Doug Pederson, the Eagles have drafted three former Mountaineers (Wendell Smallwood, Shelton Gibson, and Rasul Douglas). They’ve added two more as undrafted free agents sans selection meeting (center Tyler Orlosky and long snapper John DePalma).

Now, here’s a controversial statement. It’s almost unfortunate that so many “Birds” fans despise Smallwood. He was pretty good in an Eagles jersey.

Rasul Douglas has had some success, but he’s just slow. He’s seemingly fallen out of favor with the coaching staff as well. They just haven’t figured out that he’s better suited to play safety and not a cornerback.

Shelton Gibson caught a total of three passes in two stints as an Eagle. None will be forgotten. For Smallwood and Douglas, that’s for good reasons and bad, but the point of all of that is this. Someone needs to let Roseman and company know that there are other schools that they can choose from.
