51. . . . Brandin Cooks. . player

Here’s a name that’s been tossed around rather casually. Brandin Cooks‘ is someone who evokes conversation in league circles. His name is just as exciting to say as he can be to watch on the football field. That is until he had his worst season as a pro in 2019.

After snagging 80 receptions for 1,204 yards and five trips to the end zone a year earlier, Cooks could only manage 42 receptions for 583 yards and two scores during the most recent NFL campaign.

Now, that could be because the Los Angeles Rams have so many other offensive options. That could be because he only played in 14 games. Maybe Sean McVay isn’t the offensive genius that everyone keeps saying he is. Maybe Jared Goff is overrated.

Whatever the explanation is, only one of these statements can be true. Either Cooks just wasn’t ever the same guy after Malcolm Jenkins leveled him in the Super Bowl, or he was just off in 2019 and can still be effective in the right situation.

He signed a five-year deal worth $81 million with $50.5 million guaranteed with L.A. on July 17th of 2018, but don’t be surprised if the Rams decide to move on. Might Philly be interested if they do? One thing is certain. Nothing will happen until the Rams decide what they want to do.
