Doug Pederson dishes on new Philadelphia Eagles, scouting situation
So, what now?
Perhaps the NFL Draft will be an offensive-minded one for these Eagles. Roseman has corrected a few of the team’s issues, but he had to because this team has missed often in these drafts. The free agency period can’t be the only method for team building, but landing Darius Slay and Javon Hargrave is nothing to sneeze at.
Here’s some of the coach’s opinion on Philly’s new cover guy.
"Darius is a really good corner… He’s played a lot of football. He’s a guy, obviously we played him last year when Detroit came to Philly. Here’s a corner that can match up with some of the top receivers that we face every week. He’s tough. He can run. He still has some great years ahead of him. I’m excited to add a veteran presence to a group that is still learning the game."
Here’s some of what he had to say about Hargrave.
"Javon is an explosive defensive tackle. He definitely fills a spot or a role. We fortunate (to be getting) Malik back this season. It just adds a tremendous amount of depth along with Fletcher Cox, and you know we did sign Hassan Ridgeway again and get him back in there so (Javon is a big (and) powerful guy that really helps our defensive line."
Philly’s got eight picks in the draft. We’ve already hit the month of April. We shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to see how things play out. Is anyone else pumped?
