3. Less pressure on Sanders, Scott

Around this time last year, there was plenty of excitement surrounding Philadelphia’s backfield after selecting Sanders in the second round of the draft while previously acquiring Jordan Howard earlier in the offseason from the Chicago Bears.

Things may not have worked out for the best with Howard after the running back dealt with a shoulder injury the final few months of action in 2019, but at least Sanders still has plenty to build from following an impressive rookie campaign.

Take this into consideration with that fact that Philadelphia saw a surprise impact from Scot during the final stretch of 2019 along with the playoffs, there are plenty of reasons to believe the backfield will be in great shape for the upcoming season.

But if Fournette were to somehow become part of the mix through a trade, this would put the Eagles backfield in even better shape while taking away some of the extra pressure Sanders or Scott may be dealing with come September.

A few years back, one of the main reasons behind Philadelphia claiming their first Super Bowl title in franchise history was due to being able to rotate a handful of running backs such as LeGarrette Blount, Corey Clement, and Jay Ajayi.

The thought of Fournette, Sanders, and Scott may not be on the same level as those three, but it would certainly have the potential to cause all sorts of damage to opposing defenses.
