Linebackers (5)

Davion Taylor, Shaun Bradley, Nathan Gerry, Jatavis Brown, T.J. Edwards

It seems as though we’ve all been complaining about the revolving door the Eagles have at the linebacker position since Andy Reid was in town. That’s probably because we have been. Reid tried to fix it. He just couldn’t figure it out.

Chip Kelly found an average one in Kiko Alonso and an above-average prospect in Jordan Hicks. We just didn’t want to see him give up LeSean McCoy to land the former, and the latter could literally get hurt by simply getting out of a swimming pool.

As fate would have it, Philly finally gave up on Hicks after the 2018 season (and another injury), and wouldn’t you know it? He moved on to the Arizona Cardinals and played in and started all 16 games in 2020. Some luck huh?

The “Birds” may be onto something now. This Nathan Gerry thing seems to be working out. They’ve added Jatavis Brown in the offseason, and they just added Shaun Bradley and Davion Taylor in the draft. Add a steadily improving T.J. Edwards to a five-person rotation, and this may be one of the more talented linebacker rotations the “Birds” have had.
