The safeties (4)

Rodney McLeod, K’Von Wallace, Will Parks, Rudy Ford

Rudy Ford made the Eagles roster last season as a special teams ace, and though he wound up on the injured reserve with an abdomen injury that he suffered in a November practice session, he’ll be back in 2020.

Philly made the wise decision to bring Rodney McLeod back, and now that Malcolm Jenkins is gone, Mills, a man who played the safety position in college, may find his way to the backend of Philly’s defense as the other starter.

As far as depth goes, the Eagles look the best that they’ve looked since the rotation included McLeod, Jenkins, and Corey Graham, thanks to the acquisition of Will Parks during the free agency period and the addition of K’Von Wallace in the most recent NFL Draft.

Malcolm Jenkins will be hard to replace for several reasons, but in his departure, the “Birds” seem to have set themselves up as best they can for success.
