1. Kevin King

Would the Packers ever consider trading Kevin King during the 2020 season due to the fact that his contract is up, and could be too expensive to keep around next year?

Green Bay obviously has some time to worry about King’s next contract if they hope to keep the cornerback around beyond the 2020 season.

And while the chances of the Packers willing to trade their top cornerback seems slim at the moment, situations like this take place all the time in the NFL when certain players are entering their final year of a contract.

Thanks to King being a former second-round pick, Green Bay has been fortunate enough to take advantage of the cornerback’s favorable contract over the last couple of years, but also they are smart enough to realize this won’t be the case once 2021 arrives.

As great as it was to see the Eagles acquire a top cornerback in Darius Slay prior to free agency, the job for the No. 2 spot is still open at the moment with certain players like Sidney Jones and Avonte Maddox expected to make strong cases for the honors.

But if King were to somehow become part of the picture for Philadelphia, there’s no question the former Washington star would be the better option, and provide the defense with a new deadly duo at the position.
