Philadelphia Eagles schedule: 3 reasons another NFC East crown is likely
1. It’s easier to attack a Philadelphia Eagles schedule when your coaching staff’s core, for the most part, is intact.
Not to make light of what’s been a global health crisis or anything, but the COVID-19 pandemic put a lot of lives on hold. It also wrecked the normal flow of business for everything from medical facilities to the day-to-day activities of, yes fans, 32 professional NFL franchises.
Now, we can probably all agree that, in the grand scheme of things, the needs of one of those institutions pale in comparison to the other, but for every one of the 32 NFL franchises, changes and accommodations for those changes had to be made.
Still, in the end, only one of the division’s four teams didn’t make a head-coaching change. Say what you want to say about Howie Roseman. He’s clearly the best general manager in this division. Dave Gettleman? Seriously? Bruce Allen? Everyone’s laughing at you Washington! Jerry Jones? Ha! Don’t make us laugh.
Stability is always a factor. The importance of stability when a company sees institutional hazards and roadblocks can’t be measured, especially when the competition undergoes massive change. Philly’s got this division’s best head coach, defensive coordinator, owner, general manager, and quarterback.
Right now, they’re this division’s most prepared team for 2020 when you take all of that into account. A 6-0 record in the NFC East might be just what the doctor ordered for a “Birds” team looking to do what no team in this division has done since the Eagles did it from 2001 to 2004, become the first repeat division winner. From the outside looking in, it appears that’s a very achievable goal.
