Can Alshon Jeffery redeem himself with this Philadelphia Eagles team and fan base?

He’s gone from being a fan favorite to being viewed like some people saw Diana Ross when she left The Supremes. The only difference is Alshon Jeffery is still on this Eagles roster. He’s no longer seen as the blue-collar guy that won a town’s respect by playing an entire season with a torn rotator cuff. Now, he’s the locker-room cancer. He’s the “Benedict Arnold”. He’s the snitch.

“17” knows how you feel about him. He knows you think that he makes too much money. He knows some of you wish he wasn’t here. He knows that he has a lot to do to redeem himself in the eyes of many fans, some of his teammates, and much of the media.

Hopefully, that will be enough to inspire him to do great things when he actually does get on the field. We just don’t know when that is. The dreams of trading him are just that, dreams. No one is going to take on that monster salary for a guy that figures to start the 2020 season on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list. We also know the Eagles’ brass can’t admit when they’re wrong, like ever.

With that being said, don’t count on any theories of the Eagles just cutting Jeffery and eating that huge cap hit. “17” will be in the fold for another season. Hopefully, he’ll be healthy. Hopefully, Philly will get more out of him than the 43 catches, the 490 receiving yards, and the four touchdowns that they got out of him in 2019.
