The Philadelphia Eagles and Louisiana-Monroe are like night and day, but this guy has a nice skill set.

Translating those numbers from the Sun Belt conference to the NFL is obviously a different story. In the 2019 preseason, he was used almost exclusively on special teams with Atlanta. He was targeted just four times in the passing game and caught one pass for eight yards. As a returner, however, he brought out five kicks for 115 yards (23 yards per return) and took eight punts for a total of 30 yards.

Green is very similar to former Eagles receiver Damaris Johnson. Both are slot receivers from group of five schools, Both stand at five-foot-eight inches tall. Both ran the ball out of the backfield a decent amount of the time at the collegiate level, and both saw extensive time as kick and punt returners during their college and pro careers. One of the only differences between the two is that Green weighs 191 pounds while Johnson came into the league at a measly 175 pounds.

Johnson was a solid find for the Eagles offense in 2012 and saw playing time despite being behind DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant, and Riley Cooper on the depth chart. He didn’t get a chance to play when Chip Kelly came to town, however. What about Marcus Green now? Will he see the field as an Eagle? It’s hard to picture it with the depth chart the “Birds” have now, but who knows how things will turn out after what happened last year.
