54. . . . Defensive tackle (4). . player

The Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive tackle rotation might be the best in football.

Just in case no one told you, Fletcher Cox is a bad boy. The guy we all thought would be his compadre through the 2019 season is one of the best in the game as well, Malik Jackson. If you’re worried about his game-one injury from last September, don’t be. It appears to be one of those fluke occurrences.

Prior to the 2019 season, Jackson had appeared in every game he was available for in each of his first seven seasons minus his rookie year, when he appeared in 14. The expectation is he’ll be fine for 2020, and so far, in camp, he’s been one of the bright spots.

Philadelphia acquired Javon Hargrave on March 21st, and he’s a monster. In 67 games with 56 starts as a member of the Steelers, he’s racked up 177 total tackles and 15.5 sacks in Pittsburgh’s 3-4 defensive scheme. Now, he’ll look to adjust to Philly’s 4-3. He should flourish.

Add Hassan Ridgeway to the mix, and we’ve got what might be the best defensive tackle rotation in the game. Anthony Rush is good enough to make the roster of most of the NFL’s other 31 teams, but if Philly is to keep four defensive tackles, as most believe they will, Rush might be a victim of the numbers game.

Verdict: Fletcher Cox, Malik Jackson, Javon Hargrave, Hassan Ridgeway
