3 Reasons Philadelphia Eagles fans can’t blame Carson Wentz for Week 1
Do we really need to talk about the Philadelphia Eagles offensive line?
Heading into Week 1, we were all very concerned about this Eagles offensive line. That’s especially true when we had to consider that we didn’t know if Lane Johnson would play, whether or not Matt Pryor was good enough to get the job done against elite competition and when we looked across the field to the Washington sideline and remembered that they have about five guys who can get to the quarterback whenever they feel like it.

It felt like a high school game. You know what we mean. You’ve seen parents take their seats in the stands and complain about how big the guys on the other team are. Philly’s offensive line looked really confident for about a quarter. Then, it was almost as if they looked up and remembered who they were and who they were playing, and once Ryan Kerrigan, Chase Young, and company got on a role, it was over.
Today, we’re all angry. Everyone wants to talk about how often Carson Wentz should have just thrown the ball away, but if you want to celebrate the improvisation you get with him from time to time, this is the other side of things.
That sack that took Philly out of field goal range was brutal, but there’s no excuse for ’11’ going down nine times either. Here’s what’s worse. There’s no way that this team is going to fix this in a week.
