1. The Philadelphia Eagles secondary gets its first two picks of the season.

With all of that talent that the Philadelphia Eagles added on defense during the offseason and over the course of the most recent NFL Draft’s three days, it’s hard to temper the emotions and the expectations sometimes and realize that it’s a bit much to expect this team to register three to four sacks and force two turnovers week in and week out.

As a matter of fact, this Eagles defense didn’t force any turnovers in Week 1. Not only that, when their offense left them hanging by giving the Washington Football Team extra opportunities, Jim Schwartz’s guys didn’t do a very good job of handling those crises.

Instead, a few grease fires turned into all-out four-alarm blazes as the ‘Bird Gang’ gave up 17 points off of those three turnovers. Just like that, the momentum shifted to Washington’s side at the end of the first half and remained with them through the third and fourth quarters.

Philly won’t beat themselves this week. The offense will hold onto the ball, and the defense will force two interceptions as a more consistent Eagles defense gets into Jared Goff’s head early.
