3. By the way Philadelphia Eagles fans, this guy was good everywhere else too.

In between stops in both Indianapolis and Detroit was a brief two-year stint in Baltimore with the Ravens as their offensive coordinator. How did that work out? Well, let’s put it this way. Rarely, has Joe Flacco ever looked as he did with Caldwell as an OC before then or ever since.

Flacco’s 3,817 passing yards during the regular season in 2012 was the fourth-highest total of his career, but it was the highest if you add the 1,140 passing yards he accumulated in one of the greatest postseason runs of recent memory.

In those four games, he completed just under 58 percent of his passes, he tossed 11 touchdowns versus zero interceptions, and he went 4-0, including a win in football’s biggest game. Like Manning, Flacco won Super Bowl MVP honors.

Seriously, is it just us, or is someone else noticing a trend here? Is there a really good reason for why Philly didn’t give this guy some serious consideration? Sure, he had been out of the game, but it’s hard to argue that he doesn’t make more sense than any option Philly has, especially when you take a look at Press Taylor. Again, it’s been hard to determine what value he’s brought to this proud franchise or why he isn’t being questioned about Carson Wentz’s regression.
