Philadelphia Eagles make 3 major roster moves ahead of Week 4’s game
1. The Philadelphia Eagles signs another tight end.
In addition to signing tight end Jason Croom and cornerback Michael Jacquet to the practice squad and releasing tight end Jordan Franks and running back Michael Warren from the practice squad on Tuesday, the ‘Birds’ added another tight end, Hakeem Butler, to the active roster from the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad.
In a subsequent move, Dallas Goedert was added to the IR. He joins a who’s who of ‘Birds’, that most expected to be major contributors and/or starters, including Vinny Curry, Craig James, Will Parks, Andre Dillard, Josh Perkins, and Isaac Seumalo. It’s hard to know what to expect of Butler though. It’s difficult to imagine that this will prevent opposing defenses from simply double-teaming Zach Ertz on gamedays.
2. Oh, here’s another notable name to add to the Philadelphia Eagles IR.
On Wednesday, Philly added Jalen Reagor to the team’s IR as we’ve known that he’ll miss some time. The most pressing question about that one is if Philly knew that they needed to do so and there’s a possibility that Reagor could return during the regular season, why wasn’t he added to the injured reserve before Week 3’s game? Wouldn’t that have made it possible to bring him back sooner?
