Yes, you read that correctly. Yes, our staff stands by the statement. Well, some of them stand by the statement, but enough of them agree for us to say it.

Right now, after watching Philly’s first eight games of 2020, can you honestly say without a shadow of a doubt that the Eagles’ offense would have looked any worse with Jalen Hurts in the shotgun? Carson Wentz is statistically the worst quarterback or one of the worst quarterbacks in several categories. Hurts can’t do better than that?

Would Hurts have made mistakes? Absolutely he would have, but even though none of us can state this definitively and even though the only thing we all have to go off of is Hurts’ college tape and a few read-option plays in the NFL, it’s hard to imagine him throwing 12 interceptions and fumbling seven more times when quite often, he’s been a guy who we know for being cautious to a fault. Maybe you can see that it’s possible, but we just can’t.

Maybe comparing Jalen Hurts to Russell Wilson is a stretch, but then again, you can’t throw that idea out either. There are some similarities. Guys and gals, we might be looking at Russell Wilson 2.0 or, in Philly’s case, the second coming of Nick Foles.

If you’re at home watching the game and you’re frustrated with 11, how do you think the defense feels each time they see a sudden change of possession and they have to take the field and put another fire out?

No man is above the team, and if Doug Pederson keeps allowing one guy to remain on the field when he’s playing so poorly when his teammates know that they’d be benched for the same reason, there may be a few more anonymous quotes coming out of the NovaCare Complex.
