player. 15. . . . Jared Cook, New Orleans Saints.

The Philadelphia Eagles aren’t the only team that will show Cook some love.

Whenever you discuss the best tight ends that will be available during 2021’s free-agency frenzy, Jared Cook‘s name will, no doubt, be at the top of the lists of any team that will be looking to add talent at the tight end level.

He’s six-foot-five. He tips the scales at 254 pounds. In other words, his body type is almost identical to Mr. Ertz’s. Then again, Cook might be about five pounds heavier. Cook also has a skill set that 86 lacks. Ertz tends to go down on the first contact. Cook snags the pass, turns upfield, and looks for some trouble to get into.

He’s a little older. He turns 34 years young in April, so he doesn’t satisfy Philly’s appetite for getting younger. He’s sturdy though, and he’s reliable.

Again, he’s in his mid-thirties, so the decline could be coming soon. Still, with a rotation at tight end and with Dallas Goedert getting the majority of the snaps if Ertz is allowed to walk, 15 to 20 snaps for a man who has hauled in over 450 receptions in his NFL career could be what the doctor and Philly’s offense ordered.
