The Philadelphia Eagles must invest in the linebacker position, no exceptions.

Maybe it isn’t fair to keep saying that Philly isn’t trying to invest in the linebacker position. What they’re doing just isn’t working. They probably would have kept Nigel Bradham around, but let’s be honest. He’s done.

The Eagles then went the route of adding Jatavis Brown in free agency and drafting both Davion Taylor and Shaun Bradley during the 2020 NFL Draft. Brown retired, and the Eagles’ coaching staff has done a trash job of developing their rookies. If you’re a Birds fan, you know what comes next. They’re going to look to free agency to cure those issues. Enter Lavonte David.

Since entering the league in 2012, David has appeared in 131 career games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and started every one of them. He’s racked up over 1,000 total tackles, 24 sacks, 12 interceptions, and 22 forced fumbles. He has nice size too, standing at six-foot-one and tipping the scales at 233 pounds. He’d look nice in an Eagles jersey, but most importantly, he’d be a nice veteran presence for the young guys to learn from.
