Philadelphia Eagles original pick (21) – WR Jalen Reagor (TCU)

Fans have gotten a small sample size of Jalen Reagor as he has sat for five out of ten contests, but his potential is undeniable. In five games, he has recorded 16 catches for 211 yards and a touchdown. While these numbers aren’t particularly impressive, his big-play ability is what makes him special.

Unfortunately, his rookie season coincides with Carson Wentz’s worst season. Because of the Eagles’ offensive struggles, fans have yet to see a connection be formed with Wentz and Reagor.  His athleticism jumps off of the screen, but Reagor will remain a question mark for the time being.

In a wide receiver class with Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, and many others, it would be a tough pill for the Eagles to swallow if Reagor does not pan out. The last thing fans want to see is another JJ Arcega-Whiteside and D.K. Metcalf situation.

Philadelphia Eagles redraft pick (21) – WR Justin Jefferson (LSU)

There’s a growing sentiment amongst Eagles fans that the organization made a mistake by picking Reagor over Justin Jefferson. After all, Jefferson is playing like one of the best wide receivers in the league. He ranks sixth in receiving yards among wide receivers and second in yards per reception. He’s doing all of this while ranking outside of the top 40 in targets.

Jefferson’s fit in Philly was a concern because he plays his best football in the slot and the Eagles were looking for a true number one receiver. But Jefferson doesn’t play like just another slot receiver. He simply does not have a flaw in his game and the film proves it.

We’ll give it another few years, but unless Reagor can step his game up, the Eagles swung and missed on their first-round pick in 2020.
