Philadelphia Eagles Most improved: Jordan Mailata

Okay, so no one wants to admit that they were ready to run Jordan Mailata off of this team huh? Necessity is the mother of invention, and the necessity to find capable linemen after Andre Dillard and Jason Peters both went down with injuries has led to one very real conclusion.

The Aussie is a much better player than he was at this time last season, and he’s definitely better than we thought he was capable of becoming.

Philadelphia Eagles Comeback Player of the Year: Derek Barnett

We’d like to tell you that Jason Peters or Corey Clement are the logical choices for this award, but that just isn’t true. In all honesty, though a bad season by this Eagles team has made this easy to overlook, Derek Barnett is having a decent campaign.

He can get lost in that Eagles defensive line rotation sometimes, but even though there are a ton of Birds fans that had already written him off (some of this staff included), Barnett appears to be turning the corner, even if he’s doing so slowly on a Honda Spree Scooter instead of the Ducati motorcycle that we’d like to see him on.
