Here are some serious questions if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Sure, before you say anything or send a nasty email, we get it. If you throw out the 2017 season, Howie Roseman isn’t right about much. Heck, some might say that he isn’t right about anything. It’s his fault that the team’s salary cap looks like this. It’s his fault that this team isn’t special at any position on their roster, except for the defensive end position of course, but what about that Jalen Hurts decision? What if Howie was right and the rest of us were wrong?

That isn’t a knock on Jalen Hurts. He’s a better quarterback than most of the prospects that were in 2020’s NFL Draft class, but did the Eagles need him? Look at all of that money they gave Carson Wentz. You know 11 is sensitive and can’t handle criticism or being challenged. Why cause a quarterback controversy and have Wentz looking over his shoulder if none of that was necessary?

Maybe the more accurate description of that decision is this. Maybe, Philly could have taken Hurts in the third round if he would have been available (which is impossible to determine). Maybe this isn’t an issue then.

Maybe the ‘quarterback factory’ hullabaloo was a farce. Maybe Philly knew they were backed into a corner and had to pay Carson Wentz, but maybe they still weren’t certain about him. Nobody would blame them for either thought in that case.
