54. . . . Jalen Hurts, quarterback. . player

Well, every Philadelphia Eagles fan had to see this was coming.

In a game that has 22 guys on the playing field at one time, all of whom are wearing helmets, there’s always one guy everyone knows, whether they’re a die-hard NFL fan or a casual fan that only watches a few games a year and then gears up for whatever Super Bowl party they’ll be attending.

Everybody knows who the quarterback is. Come on. Do you think Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers would wind up in all of those State Farm commercials and Tom Brady would be married to Gisele Bündchen if all of those guys were kickers or slot receivers?

The Philadelphia Eagles have drafted one guy since 2016 that has made the Pro Bowl, Carson Wentz. His successor, Jalen Hurts, is seeing his star rise. He has talent. He has the name, and he’s now the starting quarterback of one of the NFL’s most popular professional franchises, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Hurts is a stat machine. The Pro Bowl ballot is a popularity contest. Those roads intersect next year after Jalen Hurts has had a full season as Philly’s starting signal-caller. Write it down. Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers are getting old. Jalen Hurts will make the Pro Bowl in 2021.
