This might be what weighs heaviest on any Philadelphia Eagles fan’s mind.

The biggest negative of them all: The Eagles’ power structure isn’t changing any time soon.

A young head-coaching hire is all but assuring that Howie Roseman’s power over personnel and Mr. Luries over-involvement won’t go away any time soon. This is going to be a huge hurdle for Sirianni and could have led to him being chosen over someone like Josh McDaniels.

This has been talked about among Philly fans and our staff at ITI. We have seen what this current power structure has produced over the course of the last few years, and it just hasn’t been good. No one knows why Jeffrey Lurie is so loyal to Roseman, except for the fact that they’ve known each other for so long.

No one knows why he seemingly won’t hold his GM accountable for the many sins he has committed between free agent signings and awful draft picks. Then again, Lurie could have been responsible for that too. Has anyone else heard that it was actually Lurie who wanted JJ Arcega-Whiteside?

The Birds’ new head coach may not have the voice of experience to challenge some of the front office’s decisions, which is a problem. Hopefully, some power has been given to Sirianni in some of the future offseason moves that will be made.

Now that a head coach is in place, the Eagles still need to make multiple roster moves to become cap compliant. They’ll also need to hire an offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator. So stayed tuned. The offseason excitement is far from over.
