Considering the Philadelphia Eagles’ new DC, this signing could be a reality.

Malik Hooker, Safety

This could be a huge score if the Eagles’ new coaching staff can make this happen. Considering safety Malik Hooker’s former coach is now the Birds’ new defensive coordinator, this free-agent signing has high chances of happening.

The former 2017 first-round pick for the Indianapolis Colts would surely help out the Eagles secondary in a big way, and we would be a great replacement for Jalen Mills. Now, typically a free agent like Malik Hooker’s price tag would be high, but the four-year veteran does have a bit of an injury history, including coming off a torn ACL that had him out for most of the 2020 season.

Considering his injury history, his relationship with the Eagles defensive coordinator, and being an unrestricted free agent, Hooker could be picked up on the cheap and help rebuild this roster.

As stated earlier, Philly fans need to temper expectations on what big free agent signing general manager Howie Roseman will make this season, considering the Birds are hurting for money. Still, these three players can come cheap and make a major impact on this franchise. With the 2021 NFL Draft approaching and free agency, it will be an exciting time for Eagles’ fans.
