It was a ‘Sunday night special’ for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Heading into a crucial Week 14 matchup, the race for first place in the NFC East was an all-out war. The Philadelphia Eagles were 8-4 and needed a win to keep pace with the Cowboys who were also 8-4 while New York (7-5) needed a win to essentially keep their season alive. After falling behind the 14-0, New York rattled off ten straight points to make it a ball game, but lighting struck next.

With 4:27 remaining in the second quarter, Jackson took a directional punt 72 yards to the house. The good news was the Birds scored a whopping 30 first-half points The bad news was that the Giants would battle back again, eventually jumping ahead by a score of 31-30.

They say lightning doesn’t strike twice in the same place, but this time, it did. One play after the Giants’ go-ahead score, 10 got behind New York’s secondary for a 60-yard touchdown reception. Philadelphia wouldn’t look back as they went on to win by a 45-38 margin.

On top of his exhilarating special teams performance, Jackson would finish with six receptions, 178 yards, and a touchdown through the air. Jackson could also take pride in the most beautiful punt return of his career. That is until the Giants sent another one in his direction with the game and their season on the line.
